Test #163600Detect antibodies specific for
B burgdorferi. This test is intended as the second step in testing serum samples found to have been equivocal or positive using an ELISA or IFA test as the first step to provide supportive evidence of infection with
B burgdorferi. Also Known As: Borrelia burgdorferi Antibodies.
Preparation:
No Fasting required.Test Type: BloodTest Results: 7-10 daysProvides both IgM and IgG Western blot results. Increased specificity reduces cross-reactivity from other spirochetes. Detect and analyze antibodies against specific B burgdorferi proteins. The sensitivity of a Western blot assay by itself is not sufficient to assess Lyme infection adequately. Both EIA and Western blot tests should be performed.
Test IncludesWestern blot analysis and interpretations for IgG- and for IgM-specific antibodies
